RECIPROCATING
ENGINE
Based on the otto cycle the reciprocating engine has been used for a significant time in generation. Engines range from a few kW's up to 10MW.
GAS TURBINES

Gas turbines are used in both open (free exhaust) and closed (exhaust to boiler) configurations. with diverse fuel flexibility and sized up to 250MW.

Selecting the correct technology is critical to achieving the business goals.
Generation solutions can be supplied to utilise fossil fuels, such solutions include open cycle gas turbines, combined cycle gas turbines, pulverised fuel and circulating fuel boilers along with reciprocating engines. Additionally, technologies such as Solar, Hydroelectric, wind and wave may be used to complement base load solutions. Some new typical hybrid facilities consist of reciprocating generation coupled to solar PV panels, Inverts and LI-PO battery banks. These hybrid packages are easily containerised to provide cost effective remote community generation. Changes in legislation are also pushing for the combustion of bio mass in the forms of green waste, municipal waste and animal bi products. Whatever fuel is available the selection of generation equipment is wide and therefore matching to the load system and commercial drivers becomes essential, Gensrv is able to model each system side by side both technically and on a cost (CAPEX/OPEX) basis.
